PTO Shafts
When considering safe operation of mowers
and conditioners, pto safety is vital. Always make sure the machine is hooked up
correctly. N attach a 540 rpm mower or conditioner to a 1000 rpm pto
tractor. Operating a mower or conditioner at the wrong speed can cause machine
failure and possibly injure you. Be extremely careful when working near pto
shafts. Make certain that all safety shields are in place before you operate the
mower or conditioner, or any other pto-driven machine. Rotating pto shafts that
are not properly shielded are potential killers.
